Illustrator Research #31- Sharon Dahl

Sharon Dahl's style has been commissioned by several hospitals, the travel industry, arts organizations, women's magazines and fashion & retail clients. Her style ranges from fashionably chic women to maps and icons. Sharon illustrated icons of the "Woman's Day Woman" for the redesign of the magazine in 2003, along with collateral projects such as calendars, cards, umbrellas, press kits for promotions. She was chosen to be among 20 artists worldwide that created art for the relaunch of the Ford Thunderbird in 2002.

Some of her clients consist of Macys, mjZoom, Woman's Day, Avon, Ford Thunderbird, Miami Home, D Magazine, The Bon Marche, American Express, Newsweek, Toolbox Studios, Washington Mutual, The 5th Avenue Theatre, Voyages Magazine, Seattle Homes & Lifestyles, American Heart Association, Thousand Trails, Swedish Hospital, and Seattle Public Library.

Her working method consists of mixed media that uses cut paper, charcoal line with touches of pastel, and texture to create her particular style.

I really like her simple style, and how it is created with traditional media rather than digital compared to most simple and graphic styles today.
