Illustrator Research #37- Ken Gamage

Ken Gamage describes his work as being perpetually trapped in his fondest of childhood memories. Having just moved back to his home town of Toronto, Canada from the UK, Ken has created illustrations for the past ten years. He obtained an illustration degree at Sheridan College, and he began his career working in-house in both the animation and newspaper industries. Currently, he works full time as a freelance illustrator and is enrolled in a BFA degree program.

Some of his clients have been Disney Publishing, The National Post Newspaper, Guru Animation, The Washington Post, Scholastic Canada, ChickaDEE Magazine, Harcourt School Publishers, Sky Kids Magazine, and Houghton Mifflin.

His working process consists of digital illustration along with animations.

His style is interesting to me in its graphic-ness and coloring. Even with the graphic focus, there are still several details added through the shading and contrast in his work.
