Tara McPherson is an artist from New York City. Creating art about people and their odd ways, her characters seem to exude an idealized innocence. Tara was born in San Francisco in 1976 and raised in Los Angeles. She received her BFA from Art Center in Pasadena, CA in August 2001 with honors in Illustration and a minor in Fine Art. She interned at Rough Draft Studios, working on Matt Groening's "Futurama" during college.
Some of her clients include DC Comics, Warner Brothers, Dark Horse Comics, Kidrobot, Strangeco, Spin, Pepsi, Fanta, Goldenvoice, Harper Collins, Bloomsbury, Revolver, Knitting Factory, Playstation 2, House of Blues, Punk Planet, Dogfish Head Brewery, and Nike.
Her work methods involve ink and acrylic, oil and acrylic, or just acrylic; she does use a few other different medias, but she mainly focuses on using acrylic.
I find her painting skills to be amazingly good, as her paintings are very crisp, and the shading in her paintings can seem the same as the bits of her digital work.
